Compare / Crowdin

A Crowdin alternative hosted in the EU, with no managers to count

Crowdin is a large platform with an integration for almost everything. Linguiqo is a smaller tool for teams that keep their strings in a Git repository. The practical differences are in what is billed, what a plan limits, and where the data lives.

Where Linguiqo is different

  • Linguiqo stores everything in the EU on every plan. On Crowdin, EU data residency is available only on Crowdin Enterprise.
  • Linguiqo has no managers or seats to buy: paid plans do not count team members. Crowdin counts managers from the Team plan.
  • Every Linguiqo plan reads every supported format and includes webhooks. Crowdin limits the number of file formats and integrations by plan, and webhooks start at Team.

When Crowdin is the better fit

  • You need one of Crowdin's hundreds of integrations: design tools, CMSs and help centres, not only a Git repository.
  • Translators should work in-context, inside your running app or website.
  • You run a large public or community translation project: Crowdin's free plan allows unlimited public projects.
  • You want strings delivered over the air from a CDN rather than shipped in the app build.

Questions

Can I move a Crowdin project to Linguiqo?

Download your translations from Crowdin in the format your app uses, such as PO, XLIFF, JSON, Android strings.xml or a String Catalog, and import them into Linguiqo. Plural forms and context come across in the formats that carry them. Then connect your repository so new strings arrive on their own.

Where does Linguiqo store my strings?

In the European Union: the service, the database and the file storage run in Google Cloud in Belgium, on every plan. Your content is never used to train AI models.

Does Linguiqo have an in-context editor?

No. Translators see the context a string carries: the developer's comment, a screenshot attached to it and the glossary. If translating inside the live product is essential, Crowdin is the better fit.
