Where Linguiqo is different

  • Linguiqo counts only translations: a term in the source language costs nothing, and a slot is one term in one target language. POEditor counts terms and translations together.
  • The glossary, translation memory, Git sync, the API and webhooks are in every Linguiqo plan, the free one included. On POEditor the glossary and webhooks start at Premium.
  • Machine translation in Linguiqo runs on your own OpenAI or DeepL key, so you pay the provider directly. POEditor sells automatic-translation characters.

When POEditor is the better fit

  • You want contributors in unlimited numbers without paying for them from the first paid plan, which POEditor offers from Start.
  • You rely on an official MCP server, which POEditor provides on every plan.
  • Your project is open source with an OSI-approved licence: POEditor offers those projects for free.
  • You need a Bitbucket integration listed by name. Linguiqo works with any git host, but names GitHub, GitLab and Azure DevOps.

Questions

Can I move a POEditor project to Linguiqo?

Export it from POEditor in a format both tools read, such as PO, XLIFF, JSON or Android strings.xml, and import it into Linguiqo. Plural forms and context come across in the formats that carry them. After that, connect your repository and new strings arrive on their own.

Is Linguiqo cheaper than POEditor?

For most projects, yes, because the source language is not counted. 5,000 terms in two target languages are 10,000 slots, Linguiqo's Small plan at €9.90 a month. POEditor counts the same project as 15,000 strings. Compare against the size of your own catalogue before deciding.

Does Linguiqo charge for translators?

No. Paid plans do not count team members at all, so a whole team and an agency can be invited.
